Get out one bowl of garbanzo beans that you cant remember why you cooked (it has been that kind of a week. I’m sure I had a plan once. I think that somewhere in the back of my mind May Bsisu had something to do with this. ). [Verb] two ears of corn and mince a few cloves of garlic. Heat just the right amount of olive oil (actually, more than that) in a trusty iron skillet and start cooking the corn and garlic. If I had any basil or fresh oregano left I would have used that, too. Mince as much of the CSA mystery chile as you’ll enjoy eating and add it. Stir it around for a while and add the beans. Add some salt. Leave it cooking while you make your tea and mince 3/4 of a small red onion and one preserved lemon (Hilary’s right: you just put them in food. There’s not more to it than that.)
When things are getting browned, your tea is ready and N. has assembled apple walnut yogurt with wacky ground flax and brown rice sprinkles, turn the heat off and eat your breakfast.
Stir the red onion and lemon into the awesome hash. Divide it into suitable containers, add to each container two balls of labneh preserved in olive oil. Pack with crackers. This is lunch.
Seriously, is there a verb for separating kernel from cob?
PS. I’m putting it in “vegan” because the labneh is easy to skip.
